  • Fasting  ( 4 items )

    Fasting

The NHA is perhaps most unique in its belief and advocacy that water only fasting can play an important and powerful role in the recovery of health.

When properly utilized, fasting is safe and effective means of maximizing the body’s self-healing capacities.

For the NHA, Fasting is the complete abstinence from all substances except pure water and in an environment of rest. With the possible exception of very short fasts in response to loss of appetite due to acute disease, such as a cold or fever, all fasting should be undertaken under the supervision of a physician trained in fasting supervision.

Healing and body repair occur mostly during sleep. The anabolic hormones, the hormones that promote repair of muscle tissue and other tissue, are released during sleep.

If you are not sleeping properly, you can’t initiate that healing process. The proper amount of sleep varies with your state of health, your level of stress, and your degree of fitness.
