    Welcome

“If you are not a member of the National
    Health Association, I certainly encourage
you to think about it. The National Health
Association, as far as I’m concerned, is
going to displace the American Medical
    Association in due course.”

The Long Lasting Effects of Childhood Health
Written by Jerry Deutsch
Tuesday, 08 December 2009 15:35

The NHA has said for years that disease is created early in life, and Dr. Fuhrman wrote about it extensively in his book Disease Proof Your Child. A recent NY Times article suggests that the mainstream media may now be on board with this fact as well. A new study by the Harvard School of Public Health indicates that the risk of stroke may be established early in life. As the NY Times writes:

Researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health who analyzed stroke deaths in the United States found that people who were born in the Southeast and continued to live there as adults were 34 percent more likely than other Americans to die of a stroke in the year 2000. But even those who moved away faced an increased risk, with whites 20 percent and blacks 9 percent more likely to die of a stroke than Americans who never lived in the region, the study found.

Unless positive change occurs, those with the 'worst' childhoods, from a health risk standpoint, will suffer the most later in life. But don't blame your parents! Instead, follow the National Health Association's (NHA) motto - health through healthful living - to improve your and your childrens health
