H. Jay Dinshah is regarded as the father of the modern Vegan Movement in the United States. In 1960, he founded the American Vegan Society which published a widely read magazine and influential books. He served a term on the NHA Board of Directors in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s and served as the Association’s interim Executive Director facilitating our relocation from Bridgeport, Connecticut to Tampa, Florida.
