

Hannah Allen was a Past-President of the NHA from New Port Richey, Florida. She was a gifted writer and author of several books including, Don’t Get Stuck, The Happy Truth About Protein and The Homemaker’s Guide to Foods For Pleasure and Health





H. Jay Dinshah is regarded as the father of the modern Vegan Movement in the United States. In 1960, he founded the American Vegan Society which published a widely read magazine and influential books. He served a term on the NHA Board of Directors in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s and served as the Association’s interim Executive Director facilitating our relocation from Bridgeport, Connecticut to Tampa, Florida.

Irving & Ruth Schoenfeld were beloved members of the NHA from Miami Beach, Florida. Irving was like the Pied Piper of Hamlin who took charge of the children of all ages at our NHA Conferences for decades.
