In the fast-paced world of traditional healthcare, where time with patients in many medical practices is often limited to mere minutes, Dr. Kerry O’Connor stands out. In her recent interview with Dr. Frank Sabatino, she shared her commitment to providing personalized care and promoting lifestyle modifications, particularly emphasizing plant-based choices for optimal health.

As part of a progressive group of physicians, Dr. O’Connor, a board-certified physician at Love.Life Telehealth, goes deep into the benefits and pitfalls of both traditional medicine and that of a remote practice.

Love.Life Telehealth, an integrated health and wellness company, co-founded by NHA member and Love.Life’s CEO, Anthony Masiello, provides patient-centric medical care that’s outcome-driven, personalized, and dedicated to addressing whole body health. With licensed physicians practicing telehealth nationwide, Love.Life empowers patients to proactively improve their health by focusing on the root causes of chronic diseases and offering comprehensive solutions.

Love.Life Telehealth: Breaking Geographical Barriers

A significant advantage of Love.Life’s platform is the accessibility it offers beyond geographical boundaries. Patients can connect with healthcare professionals like Dr. O’Connor through seamless telehealth consultations.

A huge benefit to Love.Life Telehealth is one where all physicians believe in, and encourage, lifestyle medicine to include a plant-based diet.

Traditional Healthcare Limitations

Dr. O’Connor delves into the limitations of traditional office practices, where brief consultations often leave patients feeling frustrated. In contrast, she describes her approach as one where she carves out dedicated time for each patient, ensuring they receive the attention and guidance they deserve.

Consistency and Lifestyle Modifications

Dr. O’Connor emphasizes the crucial role of consistency in lifestyle modifications. From the plant-curious to those well-versed in health programs, she guides patients to foundational changes, recognizing that small, consistent decisions pave the way for long-term success.

Collaborating with Primary Care Physicians

One intriguing aspect of Dr. O’Connor’s practice is her collaboration with primary care physicians. She recommends that patients maintain their relationships with their primary care physicians, ensuring continuity of care. While some physicians may be resistant to lifestyle changes, Dr. O’Connor supports her patients in educating their healthcare providers about the benefits of holistic health practices.

Stress Response Management: Yoga and Breathwork

Dr. O’Connor, a certified yoga practitioner, places a strong emphasis on stress response management. Acknowledging the challenges of getting individuals to embrace stillness, she introduces practices like yoga and breathwork to calm the mind and allow the body to heal.

Resonance breathing, a technique that involves intentional breath control, is a powerful tool Dr. O’Connor recommends for improving heart rate variability and addressing issues like anxiety and hypertension.

Community Support Initiatives in the Works at Love.Life

Beyond individual consultations, Love.Life Telehealth is working on expansion of available  services to include community-focused initiatives. From group cooking classes to community support programs, these additions aim to create a sense of community, mirroring the supportive environments found in long-lived cultures.

Gratitude for the National Health Association
